About Us

Nutritious Concepts is a specialty practice that approaches wellness and chronic disease management with systems optimization and root cause healing

Rubi Anjum, RDN, FMNS

Functional Medicine Nutrition Specialist

Rubi helped people manage their chronic health issues with Medical Nutrition Therapy combined with holistic therapies. Her nutrition education and skills complement her holistic approach toward health and well-being. She is a firm believer in “Food is Medicine” and help her family, friends and patients make mindful choices for their diet and lifestyle.

Rubi always felt a missing piece in her career and had the desire for helping patients at a deeper level. Working in acute care meant surface level, short-term impact on the patients who really needed more than just a quick dietary handout. That inner quest for wanting more led her to exploring this specialty called Integrative and Functional Medicine Nutrition Therapy.

She practiced as a Clinical Dietitian in various outpatient and in-patient settings for more than 20 years. She was always passionate about science, nature. and holistic lifestyle. She resolved her own health issues by implementing the functional nutrition knowledge she gained. Chronic disease management with holistic approach is her core belief that she has witnessed herself with many successful stories of her patients.

Now she specializes in Integrative and Functional Medicine Nutrition Therapy (IFMNT). She completed a 5-year certification program in IFMNT from Next Level Functional Nutrition. She is on a mission to EMPOWER and guide those who are seeking the answers to chronic unresolved health issues and help them CREATE OPTIMAL HEALTH.

What is Integrative Medicine

Integrative Medicine focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals, and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing. This is a very specialized and personalized form of medicine that addresses the underlying causes of disease using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. The unique genetic makeup of each patient is considered, along with both internal (mind, body, and spirit) and external (physical and social environment) factors that affect total functioning

It integrates traditional Western medical practices with what is sometimes considered “alternative” or “integrative” medicine, creating a focus on prevention through nutrition, diet, and exercise; use of the latest laboratory testing and other diagnostic techniques; and prescribed combinations of drugs and/or botanical medicines, supplements, therapeutic diets, detoxification programs, or stress-management techniques.

Mission & Vision

Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, we understand that each person has unique nutritional and health needs, influenced by genetics, lifestyle, and environment.

We approach human body's systems as interconnected and believe that a problem in one area can affect others. This is the holistic approach that considers the whole person, not just isolated symptoms or conditions.

Our vision is to educate people to connect with real food and empower them to understand the intricate connections of humany body systems and create a healthy lifestyle.

Root cause resolution is central to functional nutrition to address the underlying causes of health issues, rather than merely suppressing symptoms. This approach treats symptoms as signals of deeper imbalances that need to be addressed to restore OPTIMAL HEALTH

Our Philosophy

Our core philosophy centers around a holistic, personalized approach to health and healing. She integrates a variety of nutrition therapies including whole foods, tailored supplements, and mind-body modalities in her clinical practice. As a functional medicine nutrition specialist, she seeks out and address the underlying causes of symptoms through evidence-based approaches including genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors in addition to nutrition, sleep, stress, and relationship to food.

Our philosophy and approach is that consistent, focused and small modifications in diet and lifestyle are the key components to long term health. She is on a mission to educate you to take charge of your health.
